Quality Control System

Our quality control for all products follows the quality management system of Canon Inc., ensuring we can accurately meet our customers’ needs. We are also committed to the continuous improvement of this system to consistently deliver products that satisfy our customers.

The Canon quality management system has the following features.

  1. Fully meets the requirements of ISO 9001, the international quality management standard*1
  2. Incorporates the concept of「practical safety*2」for greater safety
  3. Introduces the mechanism of "quality confirmation in the commercialization process" to maintain stable quality*3
  • *1 Canon's company regulations governing its quality management system have been approved by the International Register of Certificated Auditors (IRCA) as an alternative standard to ISO 9001.
  • *2 The concept of ensuring safety not only in accordance with legally mandated standards, but also by considering actual customer usage and other factors, even when not legally required.
  • *3 A mechanism in the commercialization of Canon products of setting quality standards for each process from development and design to production and shipment, and strictly checking the degree of quality achieved by determining whether or not the quality standards have been met at each milestone.

Quality Control Initiatives

To ensure a stable supply of high-quality products, we conduct various inspections from multiple perspectives, from raw material acceptance to product shipment. We also confirm compliance with established specifications before making the final decision on whether or not to approve shipment.

Material quality is controlled through data verification and sampling inspections of raw materials

2.Manufacturing process quality control

We manage the quality of each process through manufacturing data analysis and in-process inspections, ensuring consistent quality levels

3.Product quality control

Specialized inspectors conduct shipment inspections before deciding whether or not to approve shipment

Basic Policy on Product Safety

Fukui Canon Materials Inc. (hereinafter referred to as "the Company"), as a member of the Canon Group, has established and will comply with the following "Basic Policy on Product Safety" based on its philosophy of contributing to the creation of a more prosperous society by providing high-quality, superior products and services that customers can use safely with peace of mind and satisfaction.

1. Regulatory Compliance

  • The Company will comply with all laws, regulations, guidelines, and other norms related to product safety.
  • The Company will provide education and training to employees on the above laws and regulations, as well as internal rules, to ensure their thorough understanding and observance.

2. Ensuring Product Safety

  • The Company is fully committed to providing safe products that customers can use with peace of mind. To this end, the Company will continuously strive to improve product safety by adhering to its own voluntary safety standards in addition to legal and industry safety standards.
  • The Company will provide education and training to employees and other related personnel to ensure product safety and prevent product-related incidents.

3. Response to Product-related Incidents

  • The Company will strive to establish a system that enables the prompt collection of information on incidents involving its products.
  • In the event of a serious incident involving a product, the Company will, in accordance with applicable laws and in close cooperation with Canon Inc. and others, promptly report it to the competent authorities and provide appropriate information to customers and other relevant parties.
  • The Company will take measures in relation to product incidents such as recalling or repairing products when deemed necessary.

4. Formulation and Implementation of a Voluntary Action Plan

  • Based on this Basic Policy, the Company will formulate and implement a voluntary action plan relating to product safety, and continuously improve this plan to ensure its effectiveness in order to foster and establish a corporate culture of "customer focus" and "product safety assurance."
